Clan Maclean International Gathering

Mull 2007

The International Gathering of Clan Maclean will take place, on the Isle of Mull, from the 19th to the 23rd of June, 2007. There is no better setting for a meeting of Macleans, from all over the world, than the beautiful Hebridean island that is our historical home and heartland. We look forward to seeing you all there!

As well as the Duart Castle Gathering, on Saturday 23rd of June, we have arranged a number of other events and excursions to make your visit to Mull even more memorable.

Dress at the International Gathering

Dress is a matter of personal choice and, in the past, has varied enormously from full kilt to very casual. The following may be helpful -

1. Dress during the Clan Land visits and the lectures should be casual and warm.

2. It would be nice if at least some tartan were worn at the Dance, Ceilidh and the Main Gathering at Duart Castle. This could be a tartan tie, scarf or rosette. It is certainly not necessary to be dressed in a kilt, etc.

3. The important thing is that you attend and are comfortable.

Accommodation

It is anticipated that there will be a heavy demand for accommodation on Mull during the Gathering. Those attending must make their own arrangements.

Reception Centre

The Reception Centre for the Gathering will be at the Aros Hall, Tobermory.

It will be open at 9.30am on Tuesday, 19th June, and remain open all week. You should check-in there to collect your Gathering Folder (one for each family) and Name Tags.
